The dissertation is devoted to a comprehensive study of topical issues of investigation of thefts committed by criminal groups. Theoretical preconditions for the formation of forensic characteristics of thefts committed by criminal groups and its place in the system of forensic methods of crime investigation are highlighted. The peculiarities of the initial stage of the investigation of thefts committed by criminal groups have been clarified and the organizational and tactical principles of searching for stolen property have been developed. Recommendations for the selection of tactics of inspection, interrogation of victims, witnesses and suspects, as well as the use of special knowledge in the investigation of thefts committed by criminal groups are offered.
