Essay

The object of research is the lexical synonyms in the language of modern Ukrainian female prose. The purpose of the dissertation is the functional-semantic analysis of the lexical synonymy in the language of modern Ukrainian female prose. The general scientific methods of observation, analysis and synthesis were used in the dissertation. The linguistic methods, including the traditional descriptive method, the method of component analysis, the distributive method, the method of linguistic-stylistic analysis, discourse analysis also were used in the research. The theoretical value of the dissertation is that its conclusions deepen the theory of synonymy, semantics, linguistic stylistics, as they allow to expand the range of issues related to a comprehensive study of the artistic style of the Ukrainian literary language. The practical value of the dissertation is determined by the fact that the principles grounded in this research can be used to create new scientific papers on synonym studies, semantics, stylistics of the Ukrainian language or can be applied while developing special courses and seminars on linguistics of literary text, discourse, linguistics. The scientific novelty of the dissertation is that for the first time in linguistic and Ukrainian studies the lexical synonymy in modern Ukrainian female prose is comprehensively explored, as a result of which the semantic, linguistic and stylistic and linguistic and pragmatic features of usual, contextual and occasional synonyms are clarified. For the first time, the notion of such synonyms, which function as individually-authorial word-approximations and play the role of lexemes, pragmemes and connotatemes in artistic discourse is substantiated.
