The thesis studies the issue of preparing future family doctors to use medical equipment in their professional activities. It justifies and experimentally verifies relevant pedagogical conditions for preparing future family doctors to use medical equipment in professional activities (creating a practice-oriented environment favourable for the study of medical equipment in medical schools; using case studies in preparing future family doctors to use medical equipment in professional activities; focusing the educational process on professional self-development of future family doctors to use medical equipment in professional activities). The thesis presents the author’s model of preparing future family doctors to use medical equipment in professional activities. The model consists of the following three interrelated and interacting blocks: methods and goals, content and procedures, diagnostic. Finally, the thesis improves criteria (axiological-motivational, cognitive-substantive, functional-pragmatist, self-educational-developmental), indicators and levels of future family doctors’ readiness to use medical equipment in professional activities, as well as diagnostic tools for assessing levels of such readiness.
