Mohammed Rabeen F. Realization of an intensive approach to the participation of qualified athletes in competitions in the system of annual training (based on athletics)

The problem of modern system of competitions in athletics and competitive practice of highly qualified athletes in the process of annual training, which is due to evolutionary processes in modern sports is considered in the dissertation. Based on the analytical and investigational research, an algorithm for implementing an intensive approach to the qualified athletes participation in competitions is developed as a set of recommendations describing the procedure aimed at optimizing competitive practice in the annual training system to achieve the highest results in the main competitions of the year. Practical implementation of the intensive approach involves the choice of a rational strategy for participation in competitions, the use of appropriate approach in competitive activities planning during the year, taking into account gender and age characteristics of a particular athlete, adjusting individual plan for participation in competitions according to international and national competitions calendar, the specifics of competitive activity in a particular type of athletics in the years when the world championships and the Olympic Games are held, as well as the peculiarities of competitive activity in the training system in the four-year Olympic cycles.
