Babkin V. Modern theory of multiculturalism and its practical implementation in Germany: values, processes, trends

The dissertation comprehensively investigates the modern theory of multiculturalism and its practical implementation in Germany. Attention is focused on clarifying those values that are characteristic of the idea of multiculturalism, the processes of its implementation in practice and current trends in its development. The stages of development of the idea of multiculturalism are determined. The main types are characterized and the typology of directions of multiculturalism is determined, the existing models of multiculturalism (American and European multiculturalism) are considered. The role and significance of multiculturalism in the European cultural tradition, philosophy and processes of modern state formation are studied. The dissertation considers the problem of uncontrolled mass migration, which after the end of the Cold War was recognized as one of the main dangers in the discourse of Western society. The modern structure of the cultural space of Germany, which is the result of the interaction of a large number of different factors - natural-geographical, historical, political, economic and social, is studied in detail. The regional specificity of the German version of multiculturalism and the current situation around it in the German cultural and political environment are analysed.
