The dissertation is devoted to revealing and generalization of peculiarities of folk choreographic art of Ukrainians of Zakarpattia in the second half of the 20th – the beginning of the XXI century.
Folk dance culture is an important part of the centuries-old folk culture that arose and developed in close intercommunication and interacting with traditions, customs, beliefs and worldviews of the ethnic group, according to historical, social and regional peculiarities. The authentic traditions of the folk dance culture of the Ukrainians of Zakarpattia – the Boyks, Hutsuls, Dolynians, Lemkos – were formed in the conditions of territorial separation and centuries of state separation from the Ukrainian lands, and due to the totality of many objective and subjective factors, they remained practically to the second half of the twentieth century, becoming the basis of creativity of many contemporary choreographers.
Due to the complex multi-level study, the boundaries of ethnographic zoning of the Ukrainians of Zakarpattia in the context of the study of dance vocabulary, influence on its formation of dance cultures of other ethnic groups, as well as the isolation of local features were determined.
The traditions of material, spiritual and economic culture of each ethnographic group and subethnos are considered and analyzed, as well as features of folk dances and traditional musical accompaniment in calendar and family-household rituals, in order to establish their genre, stylistic and compositional differences according to zoning.
For the first time in the national art studies features were analyzed and the main ethnic differences of dance folklore and local vocabulary of the ethnographic group of the Ukrainian people of the valley are determined.
The political, social and cultural conditions of the period of the birth of professional and amateur folk-stage dance in Zakarpattia in the 1920-1930's were specified. The activity of the Zakarpattian Plastans, the groups of the first professional theater of Zakarpattia, "The Russian Theater of Prosvita" and the "New Scene" theater was revealed. their contribution to popularization and development of folk-stage dance, as part of the dramatic performances and staging of dance groups.
The central place in the dissertation is the study of the process of formation and development of folk choreographic art of Ukrainians of Zakarpattia in the context of the interrelation with the cultural and artistic life of the society of the second half of the twentieth century. Separately, the relationship between folk stage dance and the new Ukrainian ballet has been considered and analyzed during this period. The main elements of the new stage ballet interpretation of authentic folk dance have been identified and highlighted, which became the basis for staging folk-stage dance in the work of many leading choreographers. Separately analyzed ballet productions, in which the classic dance was combined with elements of authentic dance Ukrainians of Zakarpattia.
The work of choreographers of the dance group of the professional collective of the region – the Zakarpattian folk choir – V. Angarov, M. Romadov, I. Popovich, O. Opanasenko, I. Litvinenko, K. Balog was studied. The repertoire has been refined and an art-study analysis of the compositional structure of choreographic productions has been carried out, the principles of processing folk primary sources have been determined and the evolution of the dance vocabulary of boys, guzuls, valleys and lemms in staged folk-stage dance, choreographic and vocal-choreographic pictures has been traced.
On the basis of working out of archival materials the regional features of the formation of a network of dance groups of amateur performances in the Zakarpattia region are specified, the repertoire of the leading folk dance ensembles of dance is researched, the contribution of their leaders and participants to the development of folk-stage dance of the Ukrainians of Zakarpattia is determined.
For the first time in the national culture and art studies, the process of formation and development of folk choreographic art of the Ukrainians of Zakarpattia of the second half of the XXth and the beginning of the XXI century was investigated as a result of the complex study. in the context of the evolution of ethno-choreographic and choreographic lexical, stylistic and genre features of folk-stage dance in the historical retrospective and in the contemporary socio-intellectual space it is determined that the Ukrainian folk-stage dance is in the process of adaptation and evolution in accordance with the trends of the socio-intellectual space of the XXI century.
