In the qualifying scientific work, the issues of the formation of the information culture of future philologists in the process of professional training are disclosed; in particular, the author's definition of the key concept of the research «information culture of future philologists» is given. The conceptual apparatus of the categories «information worldview», «information competence» and «information activity» has been clarified and expanded. It is proved that in the professional activity of future philologists information culture is realized through a number of functions: information and communication, cognitive, regulatory, analytical, cultural and educational.
A model for the formation of information culture of future philologists in a specially created information and educational environment of the university has been developed and adapted to the educational process, and its effectiveness and pedagogical expediency have been experimentally tested; describes the structure and mutually agreed components of the model, in particular the target; procedural-meaningful and evaluative-effective. The target block is characterized by the awareness of the goals and objectives of the formation of the information culture of future philologists, which is due to the social order of society for the training of highly qualified personnel.
The procedural-content block reflects the essence of the methodology for the formation of information culture and is implemented using the disciplines «Modern information technologies” and the special course “Information technologies in philological education», as well as disciplines of a professionally oriented and methodological direction. This block contains the stages of formation, approaches and principles of organizing the process of forming the information culture of future philologists; organizational and pedagogical conditions and synthesis of methods, means and forms of the stage-by-stage formation of the information culture of future philologists.
As a result of the analysis and the specifics of the professional activity of philologists, the criteria for the formation of information culture were identified: motivational-emotional (determines the internal motives for the formation of one's own information culture, mastering modern IT tools); cognitively productive (the ability to select the necessary pedagogical software and electronic educational resources for effective professional activity; knowledge in the field of information technology, disciplines of a professionally oriented and methodological direction); professional activity (efficiency and productivity of various types of information activities with the employer of technical means, depending on the form of its presentation); personality-reflective (the formation of reflexive skills, attitude to oneself, to one's own practical activity, provides for introspection, self-control, self-assessment of one's information activity, self-knowledge and self-realization in professional activity).
It has been proved that organizational and pedagogical conditions play a special role in the implementation of the model for the formation of information culture of future philologists: motivation of students to improve their knowledge of various types of work with information, the use of ICT tools in practical activities; systematic use of information technology tools for the development of cognitive activity; psychological, pedagogical, methodological, didactic support of the process of forming the information culture of future philologists using IT tools; purposeful formation of information culture in the process of studying the special course “Information technologies in philological education” on the basis of an electronic educational and methodological complex; self-control and reflection on the results of their own educational activities.
The results of approbation were confirmed by statistically significant changes in the indicators of information culture formation in the experimental and control groups, namely: at the beginning of the experiment in the CG, a high and sufficient level of information culture was observed in 24.41% of respondents, in the CG – in 21.88%; at the final stage – a high and sufficient level in the CG was 42.97%, in the EG – 95.28% (in the EG there is an increase in 3.9 times, while in the CG – in 1.96 times). Ways and mechanisms for optimizing the use of digital technologies were further developed, aimed at improving the professional and informational activities of future philologists.
