Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of features of restoration of post - stroke motor deficit in patients with cognitive impairment in order to increase the efficiency of recovery of motor function and optimization of rehabilitation measures in acute and early recovery period of hemispheric ischemic stroke in patients with cognitive impairment. A comprehensive clinical, neurological and neuropsychological study of patients with motor deficits and cognitive impairment after suffering a hemispheric ischemic stroke confirmed the importance of the problem and the need to look for measures to improve efficiency and optimize rehabilitation measures. Motor disorders due to hemispheric ischemic stroke had a strong effect (r=0,73, р<0,0001) on life quality impairment. High level of anxiety has a negative impact on both the recovery of motor(p<0,05) and cognitive functions(p<0,05). A combination of mirror therapy and magnetotherapy was applied to patients after suffering hemispheric ischemic stroke in the early recovery period. The efficacy of this technique was proved in the dissertation: the increase of scores according to Scandinavian scale (p <0,0001), 6-point arm scale (p<0,005) and Ashworth scale for the arm and leg (p <0.0001) was noted. Also, a decrease of NIHSS scores (p<0,005) was revealed. Mirror therapy in combination with magnetotherapy significantly improved MMSE, MoCA, and Schulte scores (p <0,05). The obtained results made it possible to formulate recommendations on the use of a combination of magnetotherapy and mirror therapy in the complex rehabilitation of patients with motor and cognitive impairment after suffering an ischemic stroke.
