The dissertation is devoted to the improvement of operations of centerless grinding of the functional surfaces of the outer rings of roller bearings by creating scientific and practical approaches to modeling technological operations and the introduction of advanced methods of centerless grinding with intermittent abrasive tools. On the basis of theoretical and experimental studies revealed patterns of heat distribution in the area of grinding the surfaces of the rings, obtained dependences to determine the depth of heating of the surface layer of the ground surface depending on the modes of formation and design features of the grinding tool. Mathematical modeling determines the conditions for reducing the temperature during intermittent grinding, the conditions for increasing productivity with restrictions on the grinding temperature.
