Essay

The dissertation presents the results of clinical, laboratory and instrumental research methods in a domestic dog with spinal and cerebrospinal diseases of various origins in spinal neurological syndromes and suggests diagnostic schemes that make it possible to establish a diagnosis with the presence of signs of neurological disorders. The data obtained on the age-related dynamics of morbidity in spinal neurological syndromes indicate that dogs of different breeds and ages are prone to the development of the disease. The animals that were included in the groups were united by a number of clinical markers, which made it possible to assess the general condition of dogs during the period of illness in the presence of a symptom complex. These symptoms include: radicular syndrome caused by compression of the nerve root in an intervertebral disc disease for Hansen type I or II, vertebral injuries after damage to their integrity; paresis of the distal pelvic extremities with signs of vasomotor trophic disorders and disturbances in the innervation of damaged roots, which are characteristic of cauda equina syndrome and lumbosacral syndrome; lameness in all animals in the control and experimental groups of a certain degree of severity was revealed by orthopedic examination and caused by the development of neurological disorders; pain syndrome is a characteristic feature for all experimental animals, which manifested itself in hypodynamia, careful movements during movement and spinal rigidity. It was found that the dogs of the research groups were at the age of 3 to 9 years, which were united by a number of spinal neurological syndromes with the same course in time and characteristic signs in the instrumental research methods. Laboratory methods (morphological and biochemical blood tests) do not provide for the diagnosis of disorders in the functioning of the nervous system. This is due to the fact that there are no organotropic enzymes and indicators that directly or indirectly indicate a violation of the conduction of a nerve impulse, the development of neuritis, myelitis, meningitis, etc. which can cause disturbances in the work of the parenchymal organs and lead to their inflammation. From the action of drugs, hepatocytes of the liver are most often affected, cholestasis occurs with the development of cholangitis, reactive pancreatitis as a result of the administration of high doses of glucocorticosteroid drugs, reflux disease, signs of dysbiosis, enterocolitis, etc. In the scientific work, the effectiveness and practicality of the listed laboratory methods have been determined, which allows avoiding unwanted side effects during the observation period.
