Maksymovych I. Cardio-pulmonary pathology in horses: etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment

The object of study - cardiomyopathy, bronchial asthma and cardiopulmonary syndrome in horses. The purpose of the study is to clinically and experimentally substantiate the etiology, individual links of pathogenesis and improve informative methods of diagnosis and treatment of cardiomyopathies of different genesis (anemic and metabolic syndromes and electrolyte imbalance), bronchial asthma and cardiopulmonary syndrome. Research methods - clinical, biochemical, electrocardiographic, echocardiographic, endoscopic, cytological, statistical. Scientific novelty. The distribution, origin and clinical significance of heart murmurs in sport and work horses have been studied. The distribution, causes, separate links of pathogenesis are substantiated, criteria of diagnostics of cardiomyopathy at anemic and metabolic syndromes, electrolyte imbalance are established. The effectiveness of pathogenetic therapy of horses with cardiomyopathy has been experimentally and theoretically substantiated. The distribution, separate links of pathogenesis are studied and informative methods of diagnosis of bronchial asthma are developed. The etiology, separate links of pathogenesis are studied, the criteria for diagnosis of cardiopulmonary syndrome in horses are developed and scientifically substantiated. Implemented: 6 patents of Ukraine for a utility model were obtained, the dissertation materials were included in the textbook, monograph, reference book, used in research and educational work at the faculties of higher educational institutions.
