Essay

Based on a wide range of sources and materials, the main aspects of the formation and evolution of Poland's foreign policy concepts towards Ukraine in the period from 1918 - the moment of revival of Polish statehood and until 2005 - the period of formation of strategic partnership in bilateral Polish-Ukrainian relations. The formation and development of Poland's foreign policy doctrines regarding Ukraine are analyzed. It is proved that all the concepts of foreign policy implemented by the Polish political elite in the eastern direction were based on historical traditions, supplemented by new current visions, and over the centuries have been transformed into a level of strategic partnership. The dissertation pays considerable attention to the analysis of the formation of the views of Polish politicians and public intellectuals, as well as the impact of these views on the concept of Poland's foreign policy towards Ukraine.
