The study is devoted to the art of Sevres porcelain of the 18th to the beginning of the 19th centuries in the Ukrainian and French museum collections, the cultural aspect of the development of the royal porcelain manufactory is investigated. The theoretical basis of the work consists of the works of G. Leschevalier-Chevignard, F. Petryakova, T. Preo, A. Fey-Alle, O. Shkolnaya. The products of Sevres porcelain are studied through the prism of the gallant courtly culture of France of the Rococo- Empire era, associated with the reference French royal style, the ways of its influence on the Ukrainian culture are revealed. The phenomenon of cross-cultural communication of the rulers of different European countries, which became a way of spreading and integrating the artistic traditions of Sevres in the cultural space of Ukraine, which manifested itself in three dimensions: development of porcelain art, collecting, art expertise. In the territories of ethnic Ukraine, the art of renowned French porcelain influenced the formation and decoration of porcelain of domestic porcelain (Korets, Baranivka, Gorodnytsia, Yemilchyn, Romaniv, Volokytyne, Mezhyhirya). The dissertation describes the main cultural, historical and art contexts of creating exquisite products of the royal «white gold» of France, which constitute the authenticity of these objects and allow to determine their place in the cultural space of Ukraine. An overview of Ukrainian and French collections is presented, in which the products of the Sevres porcelain manufactory of second half of 18th to the beginning of the 19th centuries are presented: collections of the Odessa Museum of Western and Oriental Art, Kharkiv Art Museum, National Museum named after Bohdan and Varvara Khanenko, National Museum of Ukrainian Folk Decorative Art, National Art Museum of Ukraine, Museum of Fine Arts named after O. Bely and the Dnieper Art Museum, Sumy Regional Art Museum named after Nikanor Onatsky, private collections and museums of France. The theoretical basis of the work consists of works of Ukrainian, Soviet and Russian art critics on porcelain and systems of evaluation of works of art (N. Biryukova, L. Fedevich, V. Indutny, N. Kazakevich, N. Pavlukhina, F. Petryakova, O. Shkolna), publications on the history of French porcelain and earthenware manufactories (A. Fey-Alle, G. Leschevalier-Chevignard, T. Preo); the art of Sevres; publications of the French Ministry of Culture, the French Union of Museums and the Sevres Ceramic Center; scientific intelligence of porcelain experts; information bases of auction sales of antiques.
