The dissertation analyzes the theoretical and methodological foundations of the study of national stability in the field of national security of the modern state, based on which the methodological identification of national stability as a strategic goal of modern state development, which determines the security capacity of the state to realize national interest. National security in the context of modern research approaches is studied and its terminological genesis is given. The dialectic of interaction of national stability and national security is characterized, the determining role of political and social stability in the structure of national stability is determined, which determines the technological parameters of realization of national security of the modern state. The role of the state is described, which should form such a security space that would allow the implementation of strategic priorities for the assertion of personal rights and freedoms of citizens. The strategic priorities of the state in the field of ensuring national stability are identified, the factors that affect the sustainability of national security are detailed. The newest construct of functioning of the states, resource capacity of effective functioning of which depends on their security potential is substantiated, the basic tasks of national security of the modern state are classified. Peculiarities of realization of national stability in the sphere of national security in modern conditions of social development are investigated on the basis of which it is detailed. The paradigmatic and methodological change of security technologies of functioning of the nation-states in the conditions of the postmodern and neomodern world is revealed. The necessity of introduction of long-term strategic planning which should strengthen internal political and foreign political stability of functioning of the nation-states is substantiated. The expediency of strengthening the strategic component of the implementation of national stability in the form of development and adoption of "National Security Strategies" by nation states has been established. It is proved that the correct and well-founded policy of nation states in the field of national security should serve to consolidate the efforts of public authorities to implement the strategic goals of their development in the long run.
