The study is devoted to the problem of forming national-patriotic consciousness in future naval cadets during professional training in colleges.
The generalization of relevant psycho-pedagogical studies has allowed specifying the concept of “national-patriotic consciousness of future naval cadets”. It is interpreted as a form of individual consciousness that integrates values, spiritual and moral qualities, manifested in a sense of love for the Motherland, spiritual connection with it, moral responsibility for the fate of Ukraine and willingness to defend it, free national self-determination, conscious preservation and increase of national spiritual values, capacity for patriotic actions. The national-patriotic consciousness of future naval cadets is the result of their professional training in colleges. It implies the knowledge of the national material and spiritual values, which serves as the basis of the national-patriotic worldview; skills and personal qualities that ensure the ability to act in accordance with the values and patriotic position, as well as perform civic duty with dignity during professional activities in the field of shipping and ship engineering.
The following are the components of national-patriotic consciousness of future naval cadets: patriotic-oriented activity, national-patriotic worldview, patriotic activity. To check the formation of national-patriotic consciousness in future naval cadets, motivational-axiological, cognitive-ideological, activity-behavioural criteria were used; for this purpose, relevant indicators and levels (critical, sufficient, optimal) were developed.
The pedagogical conditions of forming national-patriotic consciousness in future naval cadets during professional training in colleges (ethnicizing the content of social and humanities-related training of future naval cadets; intensifying the use of interactive teaching methods during professional training of future naval cadets; strengthening national-patriotic consciousness in future naval cadets; improving educational and methodological support for forming national-patriotic consciousness in naval cadets) have been determined. A model of forming national-patriotic consciousness in future naval cadets during professional training in colleges has been developed. It combines methodological-target, content-procedural and diagnostic-effective blocks. The model has been developed following the provisions on the implementation of methodological approaches (systemic, personality-oriented, activity-related, axiological, acmeological) and principles of training in terms of forming national-patriotic consciousness in future naval cadets during professional training in colleges.
The educational and methodological support for forming national-patriotic consciousness in future naval cadets during professional training in colleges has been laborated and implemented in the educational process. It includes the textbook, titled “National-Patriotic Education of Future Naval Cadets in the Educational Environment of Colleges”, educational programmes for forming national-patriotic consciousness in future naval cadets, as well as the plan of educational work and scenarios of extracurricular activities.
