Essay

The study is devoted to the theoretical understanding of the varieties of Ukrainian choreographic art of the 1950s and 1980s as a factor in the formation of national identity. In the dissertation the theoretical and source base of research is analyzed and systematized, its theoretical and methodological bases are defined, the levers of influence of national-stage dance of 1950-1980 on formation of national identity of Ukrainians are revealed, national ballet performances as ethnomarked phenomena influencing formation are considered national identity of Ukrainians in the 1950s and 1980s, the peculiarities of integrating elements of Ukrainian folk dance into the ballroom in the 1950s and 1980s through the prism of the formation of the national identity of Ukrainians were clarified. The culturological approach and the following methods are used to solve the outlined tasks: analytical – for the analysis of historiography and source base, comprehension of events, facts, repertoire, etc .; system – to reproduce a holistic system of varieties of stage choreographic art as factors in the formation of national identity; historical and chronological – to conduct research in chronological order, taking into account the historical context; reproduction of a holistic picture of the functioning of different types of choreography in Ukraine in the stated chronological period; art analysis – to identify stylistic and lexical features of the manifestation of "national" in choreography; theoretical generalization – to clarify the terminological apparatus of the study, the formulation of conclusions; systematization of the main ways of forming national identity through dance. It is noted that among the promising areas of further research - the reproduction of regional national features of Ukrainian choreography in the system of dance art as one of the ways to translate ethnocultural identity, comparing the role of folk stage choreography in the sociocultural space of Ukraine in Soviet and post-Soviet periods, dance as a method of creating nationally marked contemporary choreographic art, etc. Key words: choreographic art of Ukraine, national identity, Ukrainian folk-stage dance, Ukrainian ballet, Ukrainian ballroom dance.
