The dissertation analyzes the current state of research on the problem of developing professional and personal qualities of future music teachers in the educational folk instrumental ensemble. The inconsistencies and problematic aspects of orchestra-ensemble training that obstruct the development of professional and personal qualities of future music teachers are revealed.
The essence of the phenomenon is revealed and its definition is clarified. The professional and personal qualities of a music teacher are defined as a set of professional and pedagogical, musical and creative, social and personal competency characteristics that develop in the process of learning and improve in professional activity, thus ensure its effectiveness.
The peculiarities of developing the professional and personal qualities of students in educational folk instrumental groups are examined, the problematic aspects of this type of professional training are revealed, and the content of basic research concepts is specified. The educational folk instrumental ensemble is characterized as one of the forms of musical instrumental training of future music teachers, which is based on the principles of collective music-making and provides acquiring skills on playing folk instruments, gaining experience of ensemble performance and professional communication, developing creative skills and professional personal qualities. The development of the professional and personal qualities of future music teachers in the educational folk instrumental ensemble is defined as a process carried out under the developed methods that provides the development of students’ professional, pedagogical, musical, creative and socio-personal qualities.
The following are the main components of the author's methodology: target (which reflects the purpose and tasks of the developed method, the content of educational and methodological support of the research process); content-procedural (which reveals the specifics of the implementation in the ensemble class of axiological, systemic, activity-based and competency-based approaches in compliance with certain principles, pedagogical conditions, forms, methods and means of teaching students; reflects the interdisciplinary interaction of educational courses in developing professional and personal qualities of students; the content of the educational, pedagogical and concert-performing activity of participants of the educational folk instrumental ensemble); result-evaluation (which covers the system of evaluation of participants of the pedagogical experiment in accordance with the established criteria, indicators and levels, and the result of training students according to the proposed method and the expediency of its application in the educational folk instrumental ensemble).
The research findings have practical implications in the development of syllabi for the disciplines «Orchestra Class» and «Ensemble Class» for students of specialty 025 «Musical Art» of the first (Bachelor’s) level of higher education; the development of diagnostic tools for determining the levels of the professional and personal qualities of music students of music and pedagogical specialty.
The research materials can be used in the system of higher art education, in particular in the organization of educational orchestras and ensembles, as well as in the system of postgraduate pedagogical education, in conducting masterclasses for leaders of educational musical instrumental groups.
