Essay

The dissertation is focused on the issues of professional training of translators in the higher education system of France. Systematic research and generalization of progressive ideas of professional training of translators in institutions of higher education in France (specialization of translators` training in the fields in which they will work; compulsory annual practical training in the country of the first foreign language and half-year practical training in the country of the second foreign language; introduction of traditional and the latest information technologies on active basis; providing students with the opportunity to determine learning load and the sequence of studying of certain disciplines within the minimum and maximum credits established by the institution of higher education) are made. The main approaches to their professional training at the present stage are defined: communicative, interpretive, the approach based on the concept of «content theory». The European integration trends in the professional training of translators in higher education institutions in France are found out: strategic coordination of translation personnel for the European market, orientation of translators` curricula in accordance with the European framework program for translators «EMT competence framework», unification of requirements for professional knowledge of native and foreign languages and recommendations for improving and intensifying of specific communicative skills. The directions of further scientific research are outlined: peculiarities of organization of practices and internships of future translators, differentiation of programs of their training, searching of motivation means for school graduates to choose a profession of a translator and enrol in relevant specialities.
