In dissertation the analysis of the systems and complex of the theatrically-critical discourse in the Ukrainian artistic culture of Eastern Halychyna (Galicia) in the 1920s and 1930s is carried out. Discourse is educed in the Ukrainian press of the period.
Investigated, that Ukrainian theatrical discourse of the intermilitary press of Eastern Halychyna was in the past and modern scientific discourses as a spring base for the study of history of the Ukrainian theatre. Collected, a spring base of research that exposed the extraordinarily wide range of theatrically-critical discourse as a component artistic culture is worked out and systematized. The common amount of the Ukrainian magazines that had this discourse is identified – about 30, consequently authors – over 100.
The typology analysis of the Ukrainian magazines of Eastern Halychyna of intermilitary period is carried out after the specific of theatrically-critical texts and addressness: professional theatre science editions, artistic, literary, artistic-scientific magazines, press of general aspiration. It is traced, that frequency of publications straight depended on intensity of Ukrainian theatrical and cultural life, and also from the stage of existence of that or other edition. The most frequent genres are distinguished among the array of material: the problem article, creative portrait, interview and review on performance. The statistical analysis of frequency of theatrically-critical publications witnessed such structure of theatrically-critical discourse: theatrical reviews – approximately 50 % of all material, problem articles – 20 %, creative portraits – approximately 10 %, interview – 5 %. Interdisciplinary genesis and structure of corps of authors are investigational as representatives of artistic culture of region. In the numeral (over one hundred persons) corps of authors – creators and transmitters of theatrically-critical discourse - the individual and group trajectories of activity are educed. Connection of author’s profession is traced from his/her by basic approaches in the analysis of those or other theatrical events and phenomena. Such groups of authors are consequently formed: literary critics or literati, theatrical practical workers, theatrically-critical texts of authors out of literary-theatrical sphere. It is distinguished and analysed: analytical reviews (what most gravitated to the objective analysis), satirical reviews-articles, reviews-essays. It is found out, that on basic approaches in the analysis of theatrical performance influenced: place of publication and addressness (professional/general aspiration of edition); primary specialization of author of review (literary criticism, philosophy, history, pedagogies…); vision of the article of functions of theatre (educator, aesthetic…) an author; aesthetics of theatrical performance. On these signs theatrical reviews are grouped on those: а) that were based on the comparative analysis of literary basis and presentation (literary-comparative approach is in criticizing); b) leaned against aesthetic criteria (aesthetic or aesthetically-liberal criticism); c) method of analysis of presentation through separate stage categories of d) pushed off from ideological-ethic criteria in an analysis (ideological-ethic criticism); e) that through the analysis of form went out on an ideological-ethic constituent (ideological-ethic aesthetic).
