Essay

The objective of the study is to identify, scientifically substantiate, and experimentally test the efficiency of pedagogical conditions for cross-cultural competence formation in future managers of the hotel industry. The novelty of thesis research provisions are: for the first time pedagogical conditions for cross-cultural competence formation in future hotel industry managers were scientifically substantiated and experimentally tested; the model of cross-cultural competence formation in future hotel industry managers with constituents of its structure was developed: target, theoretical and methodological, procedural, effective; criteria (value-motivational, cognitive and conscious, professional and activity), indices, and levels (elementary, sufficient, and creative) of cross-cultural competence formedness of future hotel industry managers were defined and diagnostic tools of their measurement were revealed; the essence of the concepts "transversal competence", "cross-cultural competence of future hotel industry managers", and "cross-cultural competence formation in future hotel industry managers" was specified; structural components (emotional and motivational, facilitative, communicative and activity) of cross-cultural competence of future hotel industry managers were theoretically substantiated; the content of the disciplines of socio-humanitarian, professional, and practical preparation cycle, the author's program of the discipline "Technology and organization of hotel business", terminological dictionary, programs of practices for preparation of bachelor's degree in higher education, in specialty 241 "Hotel and catering business" of subject area 24 “Service industry” was improved; forms (lecture, seminar, laboratory work, online courses, online trainings, online workshops, hackathons, webinars, social networks, communication platforms according to scientific interests, international online competitions and conferences, etc.); methods (interactive methods, business games, project technologies, visualization methods, educational work with web resources), means of cross-cultural competence formation of future hotel industry managers; scientific provisions on the organization of quality assurance of cross-cultural competence formation of future hotel industry managers were further developed. The practical significance of the findings consists in the development of content support for cross-cultural competence formation in the preparation of bachelors of higher education in subject area 24 "Service sector", specialty 241 "Hotel and catering business": vocational subjects ("Hotel Industry", "Technology and organization of hotel business", "Service fundamentals","Consumer behavior","Quality management of products and services in hospitality industry","Sociology","History of cultural heritage of Ukraine","Ukrainian language for professional purposes","Psychology of interpersonal communication","Management of hospitality industry","International tourism business"); internship programmes (educational (introduction to the specialty), productive (technological and organizational), and complex (bachelor's)); educational and methodological support of the discipline "Technology and organization of hotel industry" (author's program, methodical recommendations, and terminological dictionary).
