The study is devoted to the problem of the development of students’ ecological culture at economic and humanitarian colleges by means of implementing an integrative approach. The content of the concepts “ecological culture of students of economic and humanitarian colleges” and “development of students’ ecological culture at economic and humanitarian colleges” based on generalization of philosophical and pedagogical investigations, was specified.
It is proved that ecological culture appears as a new worldview paradigm and an essential aspect of socio-cultural existence, which requires the formation of ecologically oriented thinking, aimed at a critical rethinking of anthropogenic impact on the environment, the need for a deep understanding of the inextricable connection between man and nature on a valuable moral and aesthetic basis principles of awareness of implementation of alternative approaches of "restraining" consumption in the problematic field of indifference, empathy and limitation of personal needs.
In this context, it is considered that the environmentalization of education is an organic component of the entire educational strategy of personal development that dictates the need for worldview reorientation of consciousness to affirm the priorities of nature in relation to human needs, which acts as a powerful means of preventing the global ecological crisis.
The understanding of the strategy for the development of students’ ecological culture at economic and humanitarian colleges proves that it is built on integrative principles and involves the coordination of natural and scientific thinking with humanitarian thinking, thus involving not only the sphere of rational cognition, but also the sensory and emotional one, which allows affirming the creative role of the principles of humanization and humanizing the educational process. In the conditions of multiplicity and polyvariability of the process of the development of students’ ecological culture at economic and humanitarian colleges, the integrative approach aims at the construction of a synthetic educational model, in the context of which literature, art, poetry, artistic crafts, leisure practices, etc. are organically included. It asserts the unity and indivisibility of the process of the development of students’ ecological culture, taking it beyond specific disciplinary boundaries.
The component structure students’ ecological culture at economic and humanitarian colleges (cognitive, axiological, humanistic, activity) was improved. The pedagogical conditions for the development of students’ ecological culture at economic and humanitarian colleges by means of implementing an integrative approach are substantiated (greening of the content of the disciplines of general scientific and social and humanitarian training based on the principles of an integrative approach; the focus of students’ of economic and humanitarian colleges training on the formation of environmental ethics based on ecological imperatives and a value attitude to nature; actualization of the personal potential of students in ecologically oriented educational environment; ensuring the motivation of future specialists of social and economic specialties to ecologically expedient professional activity). A structural and functional model of the development of students’ ecological culture at economic and humanitarian colleges by means of implementing an integrative approach, which combines target, theoretical and methodological, organizational-content and effective blocks was developed. Educational and methodological support for the development of students’ ecological culture at economic and humanitarian colleges was developed and implemented in to the educational process by means of implementing an integrative approach.
