The ceramics is the most massive and informative category of the Tripilye archaeological culture. The classification of pottery from the archaeological sites of the Bug and Dnieper region (BII-CI-CII) opens up possibility to define some complexes with specific features; basing on these peculiarities, the local and chronological groups and the genetic interrelations between these groups have been determined. The periodization of the region is included to the general scheme of the periods of the Ariushd-Kukuteni-Tripolye cultural and historical community. Some issues of settling of the tribes of "western" genetic line within the Bug and Dnieper region are discussed; the place and the role of these tribes in the system of the Middle and the Late Tripolye are defined; and the interrelations between these and other Tripolye tribes as well as their contacts with the other ethnic communities are determined.
