The notions for the problems with economic contents are specified in the dissertation, the contents and composition of the skills to solve problems are examined, psychological and methodological principles for their formation are specified, the system of principles for problems selection is developed. It is justified that the formation of skills to solve problems with economic contents has to be oriented on operations side, it should include the stages preparation, motivation, introduction, evaluation and also take into consideration the peculiarities of students training, the levels of requirementrs to developing skills, patterns of training and requirements to problem solving. The methods of skills formation to solve problems with economic contents, which are grounded both theoretically and by experiments are defended in the dissertation (objective, contents, methods, organisational forms, techniques and tools). These methods ensure effective differentiated formation of students skills to solve prob lems with economic contents and they can be used by the trainers of another profile colleges.
