Essay

The thesis describes the investigations into the effect of parenterally applied huminat onto the blood count in down-calving cows. It has been revealed that this preparation normalizes metabolic processes in cows and improves the vitality of their offspring. The dosage of hydrohumat has been precisely estimated as well as its positive impact on milk quality. The application of hydrohumat in down-calving cows has improved the metabolism and energy potential in cows. Colostrum from cows treated with hydrohumat contained more nutrients - fat, casein and lactoglobulinum in particular. Calves born from cows in the test group were less susceptible to diseases as compared to the same age calves in the control group. The principal results of the investigation stated in the thesis have been included into the methodological recommendations on the research into huminat (Kyiv, 1991) and hydrohumat (Dnipropetrovsk, 1999), administration in animals.
