The theses covers a comprehensive research of military periodical press in 1917-1920. The definition of the military press formation type is given, typological characteristics are discovered. Author made an attempt to discover aspects of foundation, development and functioning of national military periodical press, generalized experience of Ukrainian language military press periodicals in that period, defined their contribution to the establishment of national conscience of Ukrainian Army soldiers and population.
