Essay

Under defence there are 6 scientific works which contain the results of the experimental research of the structure and dynamics of the motor commands controlling the performance of targeted single-joint movements in humans. The target equilibrium state is established before beginning of stationary phases of the motor commands. There is no singe-valued relations between equilibrium joint angles and levels of the stationary efferent activity addressed to agonist muscles. A phenomenon of equilibrium force stabilization, i.e. a possibility to maintain certain force of muscle contraction after a considerable drop in the level of motor command to this muscle, was demonstrated. A multi-component pattern of the dynamic phase of motor commands providing the control of targeted flexor and extensor movements in the elbow joint were analyzed.
