Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the investigation of neurophysiological mechanisms of action of the vitamine derivatives of GABA - panthogam, pycamilon and GABA-ascorbinate. The influence of these compounds on the postsynaptic reactions of the normal and epileptic neocortical neurons was studied. Doses that induce different effects on the cortical inhibition are determined. Mechanisms of action of these drugs on the GAВA-receptor-channel complex are discussed. The results of the work have found clinical applications in psychoneurology and psychopharmacology.
