Object of research: foreign language grammar skills development and control. Aim of research: laying a foundation for the foreign language pedagogic grammar theory, which takes into account in a systemic and comprehensive way the psychological, psycholinguistic and teaching characteristics of the foreign language grammar skills development. Methods of research: comparative analysis, observation, modelling, experimental teaching, testing, questionnaires. Theoretical and practical results: principles, structure and components of the pedagogic grammar theory have been defined; an integrative approach to the problem of the foreign language grammar skills development based on the hypothetical model of the latter, principles of linguistic and pedagogic grammar correlation and pedagogic grammar application in actual teaching has been suggested. 14 sets of teaching materials for secondary and higher school have been developed. Novelty of the innovation: a comprehensive approach to the problem of the foreign la nguage grammar skills development allowed to formulate the preferable strategies for the foreign language acquisition, requirements to pedagogic grammar rules, as well as the principles of conscious and subconscious, linguistic and pedagogic grammar correlation. Degree of innovation: research results are being used in Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages Course as well as in teaching practical grammar. Area of usage: practical English courses, training students for teaching and research.
