Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to the theory of regulating the language functionning in the society. The status and characteristics of prescriptive approach is defined as presented in linguistics of 19-20 centuries. The dissertation includes a new logic interpretation of linguistic prescriptions. A theory of language consciousness is presented, aimed at analysing the dynamics of language prescriptions in their relation to the systems of values. The effect of diachroniacal semantics of metalingual terms over the culture-specific type of language perception is described. The results may be adapted for courses of lectures on sociolingistics, they also may be useful for language legislators.
