Shegedyn M. Medical-social bases of reforming the nurse personnel resources of health protection system

The thesis is for receiving doctor's degree of medical science, specialty 14.02.03 social medicine. - National medical university by O.O. Bohomolets of Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Kyiv, 2001. The thesis is devoted to reforming of nursing and nursing education in Ukraine. The inadequacy of native nursing and nursing education to modern requirements of health protection system, WHO's demands and international standards is proved. The most important achievements of nursing in the majority of countries in the world that have become possible thanks to introducing of higher nursing education are demonstrated. Main conceptual approaches to reforming nursing and nursing education in Ukraine on grounds of new quality are scientifically substantiated, modern models of nurses of two educational-qualifying levels (junior specialist and bachelor), nursing education models were worked out and introduced, forming of nursing as a scientific discipline was launched. First a system of higher unbroken degree system of nurses' education in accordance with requirements of health protection of Ukraine and international standards was created. Results of the launching confirmed their high medical and social effectiveness.
