Boreckaja N. Social Protection of the Population in the Conditions of Transforming the Economy.

The dissertation deals with the complex investigation of social protection of the population in the conditions of transforming the Ukrainian Economy. The essence and particularities of social protection of the population have been grounded and its conceptual basis has been determined. Methodological principles and models of social protection have been described; the conceptual model of improving the social protection of the population has been developed; social and economic indicators of the living standards have been determined as well as social and economic risks through which the country regulates the social protection of the population. Transforming changes in the social protection of the vulnerable groups of the population (pensioners, youth, women) and scientific foundations of prognosing the development and improvement of the social protection of the Ukrainian population have been determined. The basic results of the dissertation study have been used in executive and legislative bodies' activities, in practical work of social protection bodies, in population support and in educational process at higher schools in Ukraine.
