Essay

The thesis is devoted to the problem of organization of specialized medical aid to the adult population of a big industrial city. It is demonstrated that the existing system of specialized medical aid is quite effective from medical, social and economic aspects. The expediency of reforming the existing system of specialized medical aid is established on the basis of complex social-hygienic research. A new system of specialized medical aid to the adult population of a big city under present conditions is scientifically grounded and worked out. Principally new structural-and-functional model of specialized ambulatory-polyclinic (3 level polyclinic) and hospital (4 level hospital) aid are worked out and introduced. The efficiency of proposed system of specialized medical aid to the adult population was determined on the basis of WHO criteria: availability, rationality, patients' satisfaction, social acceptability.
