Essay

The poetic picture of N. Gumilev's world is represented in the dissertation through metaphorical expressions of his poetical heritage. The conceptual approach to the phenomenon of metaphor allows re-constructing the poetic picture of the writer's world on the basis of the most important concepts for his poetry: "I", "she", word, and literature. The complicated and heterogeneous structure of the above-mentioned key concepts is analysed, the methods of their metaphorical comprehension are characterized in this dissertation. The typology of the individual author's metaphors is represented in their formal semantic and structural aspects. The regular use of metaphors of different kinds is researched, the linguistic means of metaphor creation in the poetry of N. Gumilev are described
