Essay

The work is devoted to investigation of calcium signaling in primary and secondary somatosensory neurons under experimentally-induced neuropathic and inflammatory pain syndromes. An increase in cytosolic free calcium concentration in nociceptive neurons of diabetic animals and a significant decrease in amplitudes of calcium transients induced by activation of calcium release from the intracellular calcium stores in neurons of both neuropathic and inflamed animals was shown.
