Ostashko T. Institutional and structural transformations in agrarian sector: monitoring, evaluation and regulation

The dissertation is a research study of the structural and institutional changes that have been occuring in the process of market transformations in the agrarian sector of Ukraine. Social and economic effects of structural reforms in agrarian sector were estimated. The institutional analysis of mutual impacts of formal and informal institutions in the process of agrarian reform was conducted. Economic expediency and social risks of agriculture land market development in Ukraine were estimated. The structure, institutional effectiveness and instruments of state regulation of agrarian market were investigated. Benefits and risks for agrarian sector from Ukraine's joining the WTO were estimated. Theoretical and methodological basis of analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness of market transformation of the Ukrainian agrarian sector's institutes and organizations and rural society's informal institutes were defined and grounded by the methods of structural and institutional analysis. Scientific resultsconcerning the WTO accession by Ukraine, economic expediency and social risks of agriculture land market development in Ukraine and others have been incorporated in more than 10 scientific reports that were sent by the Institute for Economic Forecasting of the NAS of Ukraine to the Ukrainian legislative and executive power bodies during 2001-2004.
