Essay

The thesis is devoted to the problem of training and competition load management for elite athletes. Theoretical, methodical and practical components of management system concerning control over these loads have been presented; debatable provisions have been determined; prospects for further improvement of the Olympic preparation system and the ways of practical employment of research results in educational and training process have been specified. A new scientific trend has resulted from the carried out investigations, the essence of this trend being in theoretical and experimental study of regularities and tendencies in methods of training and competition load management for elite athletes, systematization of available knowledge, its specification, extension and transformation. In terms of literary sources analysis and generalization of athlete training experience over cyclic sports, the ways of solving the problem of management of elite athletes' training and competition loads in the setting of preparation course intensification have been developed. The research has shown that the main component of theoretical-methodical grounds of management of training and competition loads is a particularity of competition activity which is considered as a system-establishing factor in organization of instructional process. Conceptual provisions for the Olympic preparation of national teams and their closest and distant reserve have been developed. Formation of major organizational and theoretical-methodical provisions has allowed defining the ways of creation of a system which is predominantly new, this system providing for its rational construction and transition to a qualitatively new level of functioning by the reorganization of activity in the working systems through the mechanism of improvement of normative and methodical provisions regarding their activity. The research results concerning the problem of management of training and competition loads of elite athletes in the setting of preparation course intensification obtained on the basis of developed methodology can be used in the training process of other sports which require a combination of different preparation aspects and which form an integral competition activi
