Essay

Theoretical and methodological approaches to investigating the phenomenon of personality's intelligence have been developed. The author has proposed a structural and functional model of personality's intelligence organization, system-forming components of which being socio-cultural, metacognitive and cognitive-affective levels. The intelligence structure specificity on the plain of content, functions, and empirical characteristics has been revealed. Furthermore, it is argued that word meaning serves as a descriptive category of personality's intelligence organization. In the research, classification of meanings as to their stages of forming and functional applicability in the personality's intellectual activity has been established. Dynamic semantic system of the subject's activity as integrity of intelligence and affect, determining his/her cognitive activity, has been discussed and empirically investigated in the framework of creative-productive, pragmatic-adaptive, and scientific-prognostic concepts. Thus the process of conceptualization expresses the dynamics of intelligence structural and functional organization in phylogenesis and ontogenesis.
