The peculiarities of ethnic press as a phenomenon of journalism, its most essential features and aims are analysed in the thesis. Ethnic periodicals, which have been published since 1860 on the territory of Crimea, the reflection of national revival and cultural dialogue processes are studied in the thesis. Main stages of Crimean ethnic press development in its connection with major socio-political events of Crimean history are singled out. A considerable amount of bibliographical and archive data has been studied, a bibliography index of Crimean ethnic press has been compiled. Previously neglected and obscure facts of the history of Crimean journalism and ethno-political processes have been introduced into scientific practice. Certain specific features of the development of indigenous peoples' press have been elicited in comparison with the press of national minorities.
