Essay

The dissertation presents a concept of researching the communicative culture of a school child's personality and its psychological development. On the basis of a psychological research, the notion of communicative culture could be defined as the personality's compound psychological formation, whose meaning-ful structure comprises four basic components: motivation-related, cognitive, behavioural (operating) and volitional. This is a structural and functional system of communicative knowledge, qualities and abilities of the subject-person of communication, which knowl-edge, qualities and abilities are of personal importance to him or her and capable of en-suring that he or her accomplishes social-communicative tasks. The author provides theoretically a rationale for, and proves it experimentally, the necessity to apply an integrative approach to the process of upbringing a pupil as a subject-person of communication and to develop his or her communicative culture. This approach prosupposes that communicative culture could be developed on the basis of unity of its main structural components, with the emphasis being made on the development of the school child's personality - in particular, on shaping his or her motivation sphere as the foundation for the development of the child's social-communicative qualities and abilities.
