Essay

The thesis for the first time in Ukrainian linguistics makes cognitive, pragmatic and functionally-stylistic analysis of the lingual-cultural concept LOGOS and traces the evolution of this concept's comprehension in scientific, religious and artistic images of the world through certain diachronic and synchronic cuts. A difficult, multidimensional notion of the lingual-cultural concept is put into scientific circulation, the necessity of its application in the analysis of scientific, religious and artistic texts is proved, the differential features of the lingual-cultural concept LOGOS and its correlation with such notions as mind, language, creative work, law are set. The thesis offers description and modeling of the lingual-cultural concept LOGOS as a certain abstraction, cultural universal concept, "constant shape" that exists on a higher stage in the hierarchy of semantic formations of ideal conceptual sphere. The macrofields Mind, Language, Creation, Law are examined in scientific, religious and artistic discourses that structure the lingual-cultural concept LOGOS. The author exposes mind-centrism and language-centrism as characteristic of verbalized scientific consciousness. It is established that the macrofield Language and its concept word, in particular, are the most structurally and functionally divaricated in the religious image of the world. The unifying role of the lingual-cultural concept heart for the components of the explored macrofields is stated. The thesis stresses the correlation of the lingual-cultural concept LOGOS with the components of the macrofields Language and Creation in the artistic image of the world.
