Essay

In dissertation for the first time in historiography the becoming and development of statistical physics in Ukraine in 30-60-th of XX century in the context of evolution of world science was complex investigated. It was well-proven that prehistory of statistical physics in Ukraine based on M.D.Pilchikov and O.P.Gruzincev works in the sphere of thermodynamics, on M.O.Umov works in the sphere of diffusion, on M.P.Avenarius works in the sphere of molecular physics and critical state of matter, and also on the theoretical generalizations of probabilistic presentations made by M.M.Pirogov, M.M.Shiller, M.Smolukhovsky and T.O.Afanassjeva-Ehrenfest. Grounded, that beginning of systematic researches in the field of statistical physics in Ukraine is connected with scientific and pedagogical activity in 30 th of XX century in Kharkiv Institutes for Physics and Technology and Kharkiv university of L.D.Landau, foremost with his works from the theory of phase transitions of II sort, plasma theory and statistical theory of nucleus. It was established that development of large-scale researches in statistical physics in Ukraine was conditioned an output in 1946 of M.M.Bogolyubov fundamental monograph "Problems of dynamic theory in statistical physics" and idea about hierarchy of relaxation times in many-particles system proposed by him. Key results from statistical physics, got in Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk Institutes for Physics and Technology, Institute for mathematics, Institute for physics, Institute for theoretical physics, Institute for metal physics (Kyiv), Institute for condensed matter physics (Lviv), Kharkiv, Kiev, Odesa and Lviv universities by V.I.Danilov, L.D.Landau, N.N.Bogolyubov, O.I.Akhiezer, I.M.Lifshits, V.G.Bar'yakhtar, O.G.Sitenko, D.Ya.Petrina, I.R.Yukhnovsky, S.V.Peletminsky, E.G.Petrov, V.P.Shelest, G.M.Zinovjev, B.V.Struminsky, A.V.Svidzinsky, O.Z.Golyk, A.Yu.Glauberman, I.Z.Fisher are reflected.
