Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of the morphofunctional state of glial cells and their interaction with neurons in neurodegeneration of various origins. Under demyelination condition oligodendrocytes and astrocytes perform phagocytic function. In ischemia-reperfusion there is a correlation between the level of glial cells activation and the degree of changes in the neurons. The absence of CXCR3 receptor in microglial cells leads to disruption of their migration into a zone of damaged dendrites under the anterograde degeneration of neurons. There are functional synaptic inputs from neurons to astrocytes that have the glutamate receptors. Thus, glial cells may participate in the functioning of neural networks is the hippocampus.
