In the dissertation on the basis of scientific analysis of psychological, pedagogical, library and books' studies sources and methodical generalization of library experience theoretical approaches to the pedagogical aspect of activation of teenagers' cognitive activity in libraries for children have been defined; the specificity of activation of teenagers' cognitive activity has been considered; the role of scientific-cognitive literature within activation of teenagers' cognitive activity has been regarded; the analysis of modern concept of age and psychological features of teenagers has been carried out in native and foreign psychology and pedagogic, in native and foreign library science; the tendencies of game application, forms and methods for activation of teenagers' cognitive activity in psychology, pedagogic and library science have been synthesized. In the dissertation the concept of activation of teenagers' cognitive activity in libraries for children has been substantiated, playing technologies, forms, methods and means for activation of teenagers' cognitive activity in libraries for children have been developed; pedagogical terms for creating playing forms of popularization of scientific-cognitive literature in libraries for children have been grounded; the efficiency of playing technologies within activation of teenagers' cognitive activity in libraries for children has been defined. The library technology with the use of playing forms, facilities and receptions of activation of teenagers' cognitive activity on the example of scientific-cognitive literature has got its theoretical grounds, it can be used in libraries for children, school libraries, and other out-of-school establishments in work with teenagers, in the educational process of higher educational establishments of culture.
