The research examines the up-to-date problem of determination of psychological background of higher technical education humanization as the leading factor of promotion in personal and professional self-realization of a future engineer. Cultural-historical analysis of social development of humanistic ideas and of the results of their implementation into the system of education is done. The role of humanistic constituent and psychological factors of promotion of professional education of engineer is investigated and confirmed empirically. The effectiveness of present forms of professional technical education humanization and subjects' attitude to it is analyzed. The psychological model of higher technical education humanization is developed and realized. Connection of successful professional development with the features of forming of life perspectives of a future engineer's personality is investigated. The factors of modern youth's choice of the profession of engineer are found and the levels and types of psychological readiness of future specialists for the professional activity are determined in the process of complex psychological-pedagogic expertise. It is proved that psychological readiness for professional self-determination and self-realization is the leading premise of "profession-genesis" success.
