Essay

This thesis represents first comprehensive research in Ukrainian political science of process of attainment of India's regional leadership in post-bipolar epoch. The author summarizes main conceptual approaches to the issue of regional leadership, defines its key criteria, analyses the factors of state might and pivotal provisions of India's foreign policy doctrines. The research of two levels of India's foreign policy, aimed at attainment of regional leadership, is carried out. It includes regional and global politics, as well as bilateral and multilateral relations of Indian state within the framework of South Asian association of regional cooperation. The author also evaluates the efficiency of process of India's leadership attainment in South Asia and formulates scientific prognosis concerning perspectives of Indian regional projects and initiatives.
