Taras Y. Church wooden architecture of Ukrainians in the Carpa¬thian region within a system of the traditional life culture

Object: wooden churches of Ukrainians of Carpathians of XII-XIX centuries. Purpose: system illumination of regional and local complexes of traditional church wooden building of Ukrainians of Carpathians. Methods: direct field research, historical-comparative, historical-genetic, systematical-typological, synchronous, diachronic, graphic reconstruction, cartographic, stylistic, etymologic. Results: the complex conceptual field of problem is first outlined and new scientific direction of its research working in which wooden churches are examined as a constituent of ethno-cultural tradition is certain, methodological approaches of complex research of church wooden architecture are developed, suppositions and theories about an origin and evolution of wooden churches of Carpathians are newly intelligent. Sphere of the use: for writing of deep publications from history, ethnology, architecture and art, textbooks and train aids, encyclopaedias, biographic-bibliographic reference books and others like that, for preparation of lecture courses in the National University “Lvivska politechnika” and Design Academy.
