Essay

Theoretical and methodological principles of higher information technology education are developed and proved. These principles reflect the objective dependency and provide essential unity. The higher IT education in Ukraine is described as an integral formation from the standpoint of the systematic approach and factors that lead to its separation into independent education sector are identified. The European trends in standardization of academic and professional qualifications, particularly in the field of computing, are examined. The denotation "information technology higher education" is defined. Conceptual design standards for higher IT education of new generation are determined.
