Thesis analyzes deepening of theoretical and methodological bases of exploration of university education, outlining of directions of its evolution in the information era and features of realization in Ukrainian society. Perspective directions and mechanisms of applying potential of higher education, ways of activation of scientific and research activity in the universities are defined. Education promotes cohesion of nation, strengthens social unity and trust in social institutes, activates open discussions and understanding of issues of gender, ethical, national, religious and social diversity.
