The thesis presents the accomplished analysis of the outlook constituent of political education of the youth on its theoretical and practical levels; the functional potential of the outlook constituent is determined. The essence of the object of theoretical analysis is disclosed, the outlook constituent of the political education of the youth from the point of philosophical-educational analysis is followed, and methodological basis of analysis of the phenomenon of the youth is defined. On the basis of determination of the functional scope of the outlook constituent of political education of the youth, its constituting role in formation of political culture of the youth is established, anthropologically-oriented procedural concept of democratic political education of the youth, relevant in terms of modern contexts, as complex structured subcultural and intercultural communication, which sets a new direction in research of the problem field "education and politics" is worked out. The conclusion that effective political education of the youth is impossible without the presence of minimum of the outlook culture is argumented. At that, the educational implications of the outlook orientations in political ideologies are considered. The analysis of the methodology of determination of the addressee of political education - the youth is carried out. The interdisciplinary scientific approaches to determination of the youth as a social-political and social-demographic group are analyzed. On the basis of the author's methodology, the philosophical-anthropological, politological, and philosophical-educational status of the youth is specified. Value-epistemological and activity-stimulating resources of the political education of the youth in the social-cultural contexts of the information society and in terms of modern education, which determine the content, direction, and autopoiesis of inter- and transcultural political communications are analyzed. Complimentary character of the functional, intentional and extensional political education of the youth, which, as a didactic-educational complex, influences structuring youth political space, is established. It is discovered that purposefulness and systemic character are the main factors, which single out political education from the general context of political socialization. Based on the systematization of conceptual and theoretical experience of political education, the model of its functioning in terms of outlook and ideological pluralism, where the behavior of the youth is determined by the ethics of responsibility, rather than by the ethics of convictions, is suggested. The thesis presents the analysis of the possibility of interference of political education and political socialization. That is the outlook constituent, which, by means of political education and upbringing, allows solving the problems that arise on the level of political socialization, and vice versa. The connection of political education and living world of an individual needs to be supported by the experience of political socialization. Alongside with it, dialectical interconnection between socialization and adaptation, realization of which takes place in the process of political education, is analyzed. The problems of "teaching democracy" are enlightened. At that, the main attention is paid to the core notion of modern political education and upbringing - democratic competence. The last is suggested to be understood as the synthesis of knowledge, convictions, and abilities to comprehend and perform the role of a citizen in a democratic society. The interconnections of "outlook culture", "political culture" and "culture of freedom" in terms of curricular options of political education and upbringing are analyzed. Specificity of political youth as the addressee of political education is researched. It is shown that the modern articulation of the problem "student and politics" (J. Habermas) is conditioned not only by age and socio-cultural contexts, but also by objective processes of information society establishment, and building up of electronic democracy. The political education, which is acquired by students, should be supplemented by political-educational activities, which are directed at formation of a democrat and a citizen in the age of globalization. The role of the spiritual guides and methodological potential of the idea of tolerance in the practices of democratic political education is cleared out. The preconditions of democratic organization of national-patriotic education through assertion of postconventional patriotism are disclosed. On the basis of broad empirical material, the cultural sense of Ukrainian tradition of national-patriotic education is analyzed. One of the achievements of historical Ukrainian national life, culture, state establishment and spiritual wealth is the preserved senses of cossaks-chivalry tradition, which involves the youth into participation and imitation. It is established that political education in the age of globalization is carried out in terms of the program of democratic global studying, the outlook directives of which enable to complimentarily associate national and transnational senses within the strategies of democratic political education.
