Essay

The object of the study was a notion of quality of higher pedagogical education. The goal of the study was the development of sociological conception of the quality of teacher education, as well as of its factors and mechanisms of provision.Methods: comparison, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, classification, modeling, systems analysis, mass questionnaires, in-depth individual interviews, focus-group interviews, cluster analysis, correlation analysis, comparative analysis and ranking. Theoretical and practical results: the author developed and tested a sociological conception of factor conditionality that influences quality of pedagogical education. Praxis: The State Institute for Family and Youth Policy used concepts of social standardization of higher education developed by the author and a conventional model of quality introduced into pedagogical education programs to develop state policy documents and methodological recommendations in the field of education. The aforementioned concepts and model were also used to develop and implement a system of educational quality monitoring at the Ivan Franko Drohobych State Pedagogical University.
